What is Low-Level Light Therapy?
The Equinox LLLT is an in-office procedure that uses specially designed red wavelength LED light to gently warm the oil glands in the lids. In combination, with meibomian gland expression, this will unclog the meibomian glands and release the hardened oils and decrease overall inflammation.
The procedure takes 15-20 minutes and is safe and gentle (patients can return to work the same day). LLLT also aids in skin rejuvenation by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin - it can help with wrinkles around the eyes for a refreshed look.
This treatment is best for those with evaporative dry eye and meibomian gland dysfunction (blepharitis and styes).
